Blessing

You know you are blessed...

When you get to witness
Someone realizing their dream,
To show you that dreams can be achieved
And nothing is impossible.

You know you are blessed...

When you get to witness
Someone struggling with their dream,
To show you that life is hard,
And struggle makes us stronger.

But you know,
What is a bigger blessing?

To be able to see & value
Both the above blessings as blessings.

My dear life,
What have I done to feel so blessed?

Embrace the grief!

I am starting this blog with this topic because I think grief is one of the most powerful emotions human beings are capable of feeling. It has the ability to heal, transform and inspire. If only we allow it to. In the last 5 years of my journey as a psychotherapist, I have watched and helped people go through grief, handle it and live with it. This has helped me get familiar with this emotion. It became a familiar territory from the unknown and unchartered black hole that it was. While, people may think of grief as yet another phase, it is not. While there are stages of grief articulated for the healing process, grief cannot be put in just phases and boxes.
